Walken touring in support of new EP What's Your Environment?

Brisbane-based trio Walken have pieced together an Aussie tour in support of their long-awaited new EP What's Your Environment? Six dates take in Australia's east coast as well as a tipple at Adelaide's Exeter.
The EP is a mixed bag of 90s nostalgia, serving as a huge tip of the hat to the decade in which alt rock found its feet. New single Unomi, described as "generous in reward even before the inevitable pyrotechnic payoff" by Beat Magazine serves up "heartbreak and nostalgic regret" (Rolling Stone) alongside one of the most romantic and intoxicating locally made videos we've seen in yonks.
What's Your Environment? dropped independently in December and features past singles Eagle Eye, which addresses the anxieties of adolescence, and Even If It Kills Me, full of heartfelt, tortured remembrance - the new EP fearlessly asks the big questions. But it does so in a self-effacing way that doesn't even go close to disguising how impossibly clever these arrangements are.
You may remember Walken from their kick-ass support slots for killer acts like The Bennies, DZ Deathrays, Totally Unicorn, Tired Lion, Hard Aches, Columbus, The Peep Tempel, Clowns and WAAX or slots at Melbourne's recent Loudmouth Festival, headlined by Guttermouth.
Walken are delicate and defiant in all the right places with a well-honed live show to match. These are quintessential driving summer songs that equally reference the punk anthem style of Blink 182, but also fit right into place alongside domestic punk winners Ceres, Violent Soho and The Smith Street Band.
Tickets from Walken's website.
