Soundwave announces first sidewave shows
Soundwave festival has announced the first of 2012's sidewaves. Steel Panther and Alter Bridge will be playing shows in Sydney and Melbourne at the end of February next year. Sydney siders will see the bands play the Enmore Theatre, Tuesday 28th February and Melbourne folk can catch them at the Palace on Wednesday 29th February
Hollywood glam metal band Steel Panther will be bringing their infectious blend of humorous lyrics, catchy riffs and exaggerated onstage personas to Australia in support of their latest release, Balls Out.

Alter Bridge are fast becoming a rock juggernaut and are on the way to firmly placing themselves in the rock 'n' roll pantheon forever.
With 2 brilliant albums already under their belt, the band has crafted one of the best rock records of recent time with AB III. In fact, it's a sprawling masterpiece that illuminates just how brilliant this band truly is, and it's going to make believers of the world.
AJ has indicated via Twitter that these will be co-headlining shows and as such, both bands will be performing "full concert sets".
Tickets for these two special shows go on sale 9am, Friday 25th November.
Sydney - Enmore Theatre, Tuesday 28th February - tickets from Ticketek
Melbourne - The Palace, Wednesday 29th February - tickets from Ticketek and Oztix
These are the first of many sideshows for the Soundwave festival. Four more sideshows will be announced this coming week, with the details of the remaining shows to be released in December. It is understood that Melbourne will get all the available club shows, presumably due to the fast sellout of the festival.
A look through Twitter indicates Slipknot and System of a Down will both be doing Melbourne sideshows, but there's definitely no Brisbane SOAD show. Angles and Airwaves Melbourne sideshow will either be the Wednesday or Thursday before the festival, Thursday will have a headline show at Melbourne's HiFi Bar, Black Veil Brides are 100% for a Melbourne show and both Cobra Starship and Bad Religion are quite likely to be playing solo shows in Sydney.
