Slipknot reveal details of solo shows, Thursday last ever club shows
Two more massive Soundwave sidewave shows have been announced. Slipknot have revealed via their Facebook page that they'll be playing two special headlining shows while in the country for the monster metal festival next year.
These will be the first Australian shows for the band since their 2008 All Hope is Gone tour, where the maggots were literally hanging from the rafters. There was some debate over whether the band would continue after the death of founding member and bassist Paul Grey, so these shows are definitely not to be missed.
Tickets for both shows go on sale 10am Friday, 9th December.
Dates are as follows:
Monday, 27th Feb - Entertainment Centre, Sydney - tickets
Thursday, 1st March - Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne - tickets
There will also be two presales for these headline shows. First up, on December 7th, members of Outside The 9, Slipknot's Official Fan Club, will have the first shot at tickets for both shows. Following that on the 8th, all members of the Slipknot1.com mailing list will get a shot before the public on sale on the 9th.

In other sidewave news, two shows have been announced for New Jersey band Thursday. The band recently revealed that the will be going on indefinite hiatus, which means these will be their last ever headlining shows. Joining Thursday for these special shows will be Saves the Day and Circa Survive.
Dates are as follows:
Monday, 27th Feb - The Metro Theatre, Sydney - tickets
Wednesday, 29th Feb - Billboard, Melbourne - tickets

It's also been revealed that Brisbane will be getting four Soundwave sidewave shows, the biggest being Marilyn Manson. This would no doubt be due to the fact that the Brisbane Soundwave sold out last week. More details as they unfold.
Apparently Canberra will be getting a "mighty" sidewave show of their own this year. Details will be announced this Friday.
And in even more sidewave news, AJ has just tweeted that due to the high rate of ticket sales for Perth's Soundwave festival, he is "feeling shamed into doing a few Sidewaves over there!!!". Solo shows in Perth? Great news!
