Mumford and Sons return this October

Mumford and Sons will return to wow audiences this October and will play an incredible 10 concerts across major metro and regional venues around the country! Kicking off in Perth on October 13, the band will perform in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra, Cairns and Townsville before their final show of the Australia Stopover Tour on the Gold Coast on October 31. Anyone who has been lucky enough to see them before, will tell you it is guaranteed to be one of the biggest and most exciting nights on the year’s live music calendar!
With ‘Sigh No More’ achieving phenomenal global success, Mumford & Sons have had a jaw dropping couple of years since its release in 2009. Having won a Brit and ARIA award and topping triple J’s Hottest 100 poll with the astonishing smash hit ‘Little Lion Man’, they were also nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, a swag of Grammys and other notable awards. The good news is the wait will soon be over for fans as their highly anticipated sophomore album set for release in September.
Joining Mumford & Sons at the beginning of the tour in Perth through to Canberra (seven shows) will be American indie-folk ensemble Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. Sounding like how a festival feels, and with a sprawling 12 members on stage - it nearly looks like one too. The group is renowned for their fiery show, drawing their inspiration from the communal musical communities that peppered Southern California (specifically Laurel Canyon) with positive vibrations during the '60s and early '70s. With a new album ‘Here’, expect to be on your feet, singing along with arms overhead and sonically satisfied when Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros bring their joyful boho-rock back downunder.
Also riding with Mumford & Sons this October (all ten shows) will be American singer-songwriter Willy Mason. With a sound that combines folk's soft and loose delivery which recalls Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash with an insightful narrative about growing up and finding one’s place. The critically acclaimed Mason returns to Australia to premiere songs from his third and as yet untitled album (his first in 5 years!), which includes the first taster ‘Restless Fugitive’.
