Mudhoney to play one Splendour show only
Mudhoney have announced one Australian headline show only around their Splendour in the Grass appearance this July. The landmark Seattle band will play at the Corner Hotel, Melbourne on Friday July 27th.
Forming in 1988 and made up of members of Green River and The Melvins, Mudhoney become the staple act of iconic grunge label Sub Pop when they signed to the company in the late 80s. Their debut EP Superfuzz Bigmuff and subsequent single Touch Me I’m Sick saw them rise to international attention, and were invited to tour alongside Sonic Youth in 1989.
The band have gone on to release ten albums since; records including Mudhoney (1989), Piece of Cake (1992), Tomorrow Hit Today (1998) and Under A Billion Suns (2006) have established the band as one of the most important acts to emerge from the famous Seattle grunge scene of the 90s and have seen the band consistently tour the globe, including alongside Pearl Jam at their 20th anniversary tour.
The band's last show at the Corner Hotel back in December sold out in less than two weeks so make sure to get your tickets quick!
