James Vincent McMorrow announces Australian tour
His recent Falls/Southbound stopover afforded the first live utterings of sophomore album Post Tropical and now, James Vincent McMorrow’s Aussie affinity continues, with the Irish troubadour announcing a return visit in May, alongside a special performance at the Sydney Opera House for this year’s Vivid LIVE.
After wrapping up his current US tour, which includes a string of sold out shows and a spot on Coachella in April, McMorrow will hit Australian shores once again, playing shows in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne as well as the Sydney Opera House show.
The news is particularly sweet for fans in Brisbane, with the tour marking McMorrow’s first visit to the Sunshine State since releasing acclaimed debut album Early In The Morning in 2012.
Boldly cracking the iTunes Top 5 Chart on release, and snagging triple j’s first Feature Album of the year, McMorrow’s latest LP Post Tropical was quickly hailed a “musical masterpiece” by the Herald Sun, rendering audiences breathless across his Falls & Southbound performances, and two sold out headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
