Lenny Kravitz teams up with The Cranberries to tour in 2012
Eighteen years is a long time in rock ‘n roll, but Lenny Kravitz is finally heading down under to get reacquainted with Australian fans. As well as playing shows in Melbourne during the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, the Grammy Award winning artist will play shows in Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane and Perth.
Selling over 35 million albums worldwide and carving a career that spans twenty years and nine studio albums, Kravitz will no doubt deliver an awesome show of 60s and 70s soul, rock and funk. If that’s not enough, he will be giving Australian fans a taste of his latest release, Black and White America, an album packed full of trademark riffs infused with rock and funk.

Along for the ride are ‘90s Irish rockers The Cranberries, whose last album, Wake Up And Smell The Coffee, was released some ten years ago. It’s been 7 years since the band went on hiatus, taking time out to pursue their individual careers, but they have recently regrouped and recorded a new album, titled Roses, which is due for release in February 2012.
A free copy of the new song Show Me the Way is available for download on their Facebook page.
Rounding out this mega line up is well-travelled Aussie rockers Wolfmother, who have just had their version of ZZ Top’s Cheap Sunglasses released as part of a compilation paying tribute to the Texan trio. Wolfmother is currently in the process of wrapping up the production on album number three, the first with new drummer Will Rockwell-Scott.
Promoter Andrew McManus says:
