King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Debut Album and 2012 Tour
There’s a thud. A reverberated crunch. And then, a sudden stifling wall of primal noise and that could probably only hail the return of one seven headed beast.
After chalking up appearances at Meredith, the Big Day Out, mental hospitals and turning front rows of venues around the country into chasms of sweat and spilt lager, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard are back with their much anticipated debut record, 12 Bar Bruise.
Melbourne producer and Rocket Science guitarist Paul Maybury, who previously recorded Gizzard’s Willoughby’s Beach EP, was summoned once again to work with the band on the album. The band spent the tail end of March recording the album on weekends between Anglesea and Maybury’s warehouse studio in Fairfield, Melbourne.
The offspring of these sessions is 12 Bar Bruise; a wild jaunt through Gizzard stomping ground. It’s filled with energetic slabs of psych-garage, ocker wit and the type of scuzzed out hysteria that picks you up and hurls you down bluntly without permission.
12 Bar Bruise is out Friday September 7th on Melbourne imprint Flightless. In support of it's release King Gizzard will also be embarking on a national tour.
Tour Dates:
Saturday 8th September - Geelong, The Nash
Wednesday 12th September - Brisbane, Big Sound

Friday 28th September - Sydney, Oxford Art Factory
Saturday 6th October - Melbourne, The Tote
