Julian Marley's 2013 Australian tour starts this weekend
On the 11th of May 1981 the profit and legend Bob Marley passed away, leaving behind a legacy to would only to continue to evolve and grow in importance and relevance, making Bob Marley one of the most well known artists in the world.
This legacy is carried on through his family, and musically, directly through his sons who firmly hold down the royal Marley name firmly.
"I am myself, I stay grounded, and do not think in the way that I am my father’s ‘shadow’ but instead that he is my inspiration, my teacher.” Julian states.
Julian Marley, is touring the east coast of Australia in May. Julian, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is a Grammy award nominated, roots-reggae musician, singer-songwriter, producer and humanitarian. In the same tradition as his father, Julian “Ju Ju” Marley is a devout Rastafarian whose music is inspired by life and spirituality.
The tour will align with the annivesary of Bob's passing, the final show in Cairns falls on the anniversary date, and being the first ever Marley concert in the region, it is set to be a big one, local buzz is high!
**UPDATE** It has just been announced that Australia's own Natalie from Blue King Brown will be joining Julian Marley shows doing a special acoustic set, which will include selections of material from BKB's anticipated upcoming new album. Natalie will be joined by West Papuan freedom fighter sisters Lea & Petra Rumwaropen on backing vocals.
Natalie's vision for global equality, justice, world respect and preservation flows perfectly with the royal reggae legacy passed down by Bob Marley to his children, the message of one love and unity, as deeply felt through Julian's presence. “We must rise to the occasion to help our brothers and sisters in every way possible.” Julian urges.
