Huge Magnet national tour starts this week

Huge Magnet are chuffed to announce details for their second east coast jaunt where they’ll be playing with mighty juke joint boogie act Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk on five dates in Perth, Fremantle, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne starting this Friday. These
are the first shows on the east coast since Huge Magnet returned from Spain in June
and put out their first full-length record Self Service. The band is very much looking forward to playing to Bundy drinking / brawling Queenslanders, aloof / coke-addled Sydneysiders and critical / arm-folding Melbournians as it makes such a nice change
from playing to the writhing, unbridled, semi-naked and frenzied boogie blues bohemians they are used to at home.
For those who don’t know Huge Magnet are a garage boogie blues band that started in Perth in 2013 featuring Jay Bale Junior on bass/lead vocals, Bretskii ‘Hot Dog’ Hearn on guitar/vocals and Sloandog on drums/vocals. In that short time they’ve built a formidable garage boogie unit and played Perth, Fremantle, Bunbury, Margaret River, Sydney, Newcastle, Darwin, Exmouth, Madrid, San Sebastian, Pontevedra, Barcelona, Andorra, A Coruna and more and have recorded and released an EP (Bootleg) and an LP (Self-Service). Although the music takes some inspiration from boogie blues royalty like Canned Heat, John Lee Hooker, Hound Dog Taylor, pre-Hollywood ZZ Top and early AC/DC, Huge Magnet boil their own stew of boogie, rock and blues on their own hotplate to avoid being shit, obvious or boring. Huge Magnet play the kind of rock and roll that allows you to leave your troubles at the door and shake yourself loose….. the only kind that should be allowed.
The new Huge Magnet LP Self-Service will be available on vinyl and CD at all these shows.
