Harvest begins this weekend! Werribee kicks of the fun in the sun
It’s time. The Harvest Festival is mere days from kicking off in Melbourne and we couldn’t be more excited.
In it’s first year, we’ve been promised “Harvest is not a festival, it’s a feeling…” and by the looks of the lineup, the venues, attractions, art installations and everything in between we’re not expecting to be let down.
So, without any further ado, here’s what we can expect in the coming week;
Festivities kick off in Melbourne with Bright Eyes playing a sideshow at the Hi-Fi on Thursday November 10 and Adelaide plays host to The Family Stone paired with the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble on Friday November 11 at the Rocket Bar.
The first of the festivals kick off in Melbourne the following day with Harvest Presenting “The Gathering”. You can check out the timetable, map and get all sort of useful information including tickets here;

** Update : Melbourne has now officially SOLD OUT.
Sunday sees the festival stop off in Sydney. All info, including timetables, maps and tickets can be found here :

The Harvest Festival’s final stop lands the following weekend in Brisbane on Saturday November 19 ( Ticket info here, as well as maps and timetables : http://harvestfestival.com.au/content/site-info-brisbane ) which allows for a week of sideshows all over the country. The vast majority of these show are likely to be the must see shows of 2011. With many selling out, or very close to being sold out, we’d suggest you get off the fence and buy your tickets now.

… and lastly.
It’s not all about the bands – although with a lineup like this you’d be excused for thinking it is. Aside from the live music, Harvest is also about Live Art, and with over 50 live visual and performance installations covering the three festivals, we are more than a little excited to see what’s on offer. More information on what we can expect can be found here ; http://harvestfestival.com.au/arts/installations and some of this stuff – if not all of it – sounds utterly amazing.
Exciting Much? Yeah we think so.
