Godspeed You! Black Emperor announce 2018 Melbourne show

Godspeed You! Black Emperor are one of the most astounding, captivating post-rock acts of all time. The cult Montreal act have announced a one-off headline performance at Melbourne Recital Centre's stunning Elisabeth Murdoch Hall on 22nd Jan 2018.
Formed in 1994, Godspeed You! Black Emperor are adored globally for their immersive, mysterious character, and unflinching political values. On this visit, they will showcase new album Luciferian Towers, alongside selections from their critically and popularly acclaimed back-catalogue.
The Montreal instrumental post-rockers have been long-famed for utterly mesmerising performances, effortlessly infusing orchestral dynamics with stunning cinematic film loops and merging them with epic rock power. They fuse composition and emotion into sounds like absolutely no other. This is music that speaks loudly and emotively for itself. Godspeed's ability to ‘make resistance sound holy and love sound like a revolutionary act’ (NME) is contained in the bands' inimitable sonic touchstones; savage drones, oscillating overtones, inexorable crescendos and scorched-earth transitions.
