First Aid Kit announce headline east coast shows
Following a sold-out tour earlier this year, the stunning First Aid Kit will soon make a triumphant return to Melbourne and Sydney stages. For their third Australian tour, the Swedish sisters will welcome the new year in their most compelling settings yet: Sydney Opera House’s Concert Hall and Melbourne’s Forum Theatre – the perfect frame for their unforgettably harmonic songs.
They will also appear at Falls Festival Lorne and Marion Bay and Southbound Festival in West Australia.
Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg have experienced a landmark year, capturing hearts continent-by-continent since the release of their second full-length, The Lion’s Roar in January.
The album was recently re-packaged as a strictly limited edition box set, with bountiful bonus material including a new single ‘Wolf’, an on-the-road documentary, single videos, poster, a 20 page booklet and First Aid Kit guitar pick.
Their joyous Americana has since beckoned praise from Patti Smith and Jack White alike, with White recalling, “I wanted to just sit there and listen to them rehearse over and over again,” after a session at his Nashville-based Third Man Recording Studios in 2010.
They achieved another career highlight late August when they performed a cover of ‘America’ to a standing ovation lead by the one and only Paul Simon at the Polar Prize ceremony.
