First Aid Kit 2012 Tour

Returning to Australia this March with their warm vocal harmonies and woodsy, folk-influenced songs is Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit.
Since being hand picked by Karin Dreijer Andersson from The Knife to release their debut EP through Rabid Records in 2008, First Aid Kit’s profile has grown in leaps and bounds. From teenage fans covering Fleet Foxes for fun, to recording a single of Buffy Sainte-Marie’s ‘Universal Soldier’ with Jack White at his request in his Nashville based ‘Third Man’ studio, to extensive US and UK tours with artists such as Lykke Li and their idol Bright Eyes. Last month the duo moved Patti Smith to tears at the Polar Prize in Stockholm with a stunning rendition of her song ‘Dancing Barefoot’.
First Aid Kit’s forthcoming second album, The Lion’s Roar due out January 27, juxtaposes sadness and beauty in the best traditions of folk and country music. Recorded in Omaha by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, She And Him, Monsters Of Folk plus many more), the album sounds timeless from the dynamic opening title track onwards. The carefully constructed collection beautifully succeeds in setting references to their home town of Stockholm and long dark Scandinavian winters.
In addition to the already announced Golden Plains and Womad festivals, Johanna and Klara Söderberg will deliver spellbinding performances to audiences in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
