The Falls Music & Arts Festival heads to Byron Bay
The Falls Music & Arts Festival is hitting the road this December with their compass set towards the sunny shores of Byron Bay, New South Wales! The festival has been invited into the Shire by the local Byron Bay Council who have marked the event as a perfect fit for the idyllic beach town.
As an established fixture on both the Victorian and Tasmanian calendars, Falls Festival has been operating over the past 20 and 10 years in Lorne and Marion Bay respectively. The intimate size of each event allows for a beautiful community atmosphere fostered onsite, where days spent camping under the blanket of a stunning natural landscape are complimented by world class music and arts programming. Each event location has been carefully selected over time with an emphasis on regional destinations with stunning scenic, coastal surrounds.
"We're really excited to be heading North and expanding this year, the Byron Bay location couldn't be better suited to everything that has always encompassed Falls in Lorne and Marion Bay. Coastal and charming natural settings; a destination for our patrons to travel for." Simon Daly, Festival Founder.
The Falls Music & Arts Festival has become a right of passage for many people across Australia with patrons returning year after year for their summertime holidays. This December, as Falls becomes thrice as nice, patrons will have a tricky decision on their hands – which destination to attend?
Marion Bay, TAS: December 29, 2013 – January 01, 2014
The Marion Bay site is picturesque, sitting right alongside one of the finest coastlines in the world. Taking a trip to Tasmania over summertime is the perfect way to experience all that the Apple Isle has to offer. The weather is fine, the terrain is beautiful, there is so much to see and do; with the foodies paradise Taste of Tasmania in full swing, MONA just a heartbeat away and the Sydney to Hobart taking pace - not to mention all of the stunning natural surrounds to be explored.
Byron Bay, NSW: December 31, 2013 – January 03, 2014
Look up ‘delightful beach town’ in the dictionary and Byron Bay is what you’ll find. Known for its relaxed beaches where the sand stretches beyond vision with waves that are near perfect. Drenched with mellow charms and the heart of a small town, 2013 will mark Falls’ maiden voyage to the area!
Lorne, VIC: December 28, 2013 – January 01, 2014
Located just off the winding beauty of the Great Ocean Road, Lorne is where Falls all began. Set amongst the mountaintops of the ancient Otway Rainforest surrounded by tall gums and green gullies, it’s a magical place to spend your days camping. Take some time either side of the festival to walk the trails and explore the native areas.
Any one of these three choices will make for an exciting summer break. The time to start planning is now, while travel is cheap and fully available.
Full information on all legs of The Falls Music & Arts Festival 2013 will be announced over the coming weeks.
