Ecca Vandal drops debut EP End of Time
Ecca Vandal, without warning, today, Friday 29th January, releases her debut EP titled End of Time.
The End of Time EP, loaded with the one-two combo of current single End of Time and previous single Battle Royal, is fleshed out with three new cuts - Truth 2 Trade, Divided and Running at People Exiting - all adding to her already incredibly impressive repertoire and exploring the peripheries of her unique perspective on Australian art and culture.
South African born with Sri Lankan heritage, the Melbourne singer/producer/performer has forced the Australian music scene and media to stand at attention, captivating fans and critics alike with her unique persona, approach and swag of influences. It is Ecca Vandal’s refusal to remain static that leads us to where we find ourselves now, in the aftermath of Vandal once again skating off the expected path and surprising us all by dropping her debut EP End of Time without warning. Ecca Vandal says of the surprise release “Whenever there are expectations, or whenever there is a formula set, that’s the time to change direction,” she explains. “That is essentially the essence of this - pivoting whenever anyone senses there’s a trend, or challenging myself to go in a different direction.”
Ecca Vandal’s triple j supported national headline End of Time tour kicks off next month on Saturday 20th February in Perth and takes in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney.
