Clowns new single, video & tour
Melbourne punk rock hedonists Clowns premiered their blistering new single Destroy the Evidence on triple j's Good Nights last night. Now you can ark up for a handful of riotous single launches and catch the guys living the legit international touring dream in their kick-arse new video...
An irresistibly sunny belter of a track, Destroy the Evidence evokes summer arvos spent skating in some dude's suburban backyard. It is jammed with Clowns' typical punk effervescence: clean riffage, sick solos, a thumper bassline and Stevie Williams' searing vocal refrain. Swift and satisfying, it is a Cuervo shot of thrashy old school hardcore punk rock. It’s an explosive follow-up to 2015's Bad Blood LP, which rightly scored the #1 slot on Short Fast Loud's annual album poll.
The lads will get as loose a drunken axe-wielding psycho at three October headline dates in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. They'll be literally swinging from the rafters, supported by Brisbane doom-sludge lords No Anchor.
Clowns are presently delivering their relentless brand of skate punk to sweaty stoked punters across Europe and the UK, escaping the Antipodean winter and sampling all of the local hooch. Putting their 'never say die', party hard posi attitude to use, the lads have endured lost baggage, food poisoning and flight delays to have a kick ass tour, right off the back of a huge run supporting The Bennies on their national album tour.
Long time label pals Poison City are working on a radical new Clowns release as we speak. Deets to come. You'll want to secure it pronto; Clowns are hurtling towards true local punk/DIY cult status with a bullet.
