Tasmania's Captives announce national tour

For a bunch Tassie punks called Captives, this crew are pretty insistent on not being kept in the one place. Slaves to the road, the five piece are hitting the tar again to deliver audiences a taste of their forthcoming EP, Butterflies, Diamonds & Lightning set to be released on the 3rd Oct. Captives will revisit crowds in Hobart, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Tassie on their trans-seasonal jaunt, to issue a stern reminder of why they’re the new Australian band to watch.
In September 2013, the Australian media noted the ferociousness with which their debut EP was delivered. The Rock Pit gleefully observed a collection of “Unadorned rock and roll with a hearty injection of punk noise and attitude” while SGSN made comparisons to US rock kings The Bronx noting Captives use of “lacerating unprocessed riffs”.
Although The Bronx and Motorhead comparisons oft arise and are thoroughly complimentary, Captives shy away from classification, refusing to be shuffled into a box, held hostage to expectations. Instead, you’re invited you to witness them live. Pin them down in a city near you.
The band have offered up a taste of the forthcoming album release with a video for their new jam Insomnia.
