Black Sabbath to reunite, record new album and tour the world
Black Sabbath are reuniting! There have been plenty of rumours, much speculation, a few premature statements and much denial, but as of 11.11am 11/11/11, it's official!
The band held a press conference at LA's Whiskey A-Go-Go, the venue for their first American show, way back in 1970, to announce that they will indeed be reforming in 2012. Their first performance will be closing the Download Festival at Donnington in the UK, joining Metallica (playing their "Black Album" in full) as the first two headliners.
A world-wide tour will follow and the band will release their first studio album in 33 years. The album, to be produced by Rick Rubin, will be recorded in 2012. Apparently half the songs are already written. Rubin, who has worked with Metallica, U2, Greenday to name just a few, says "When I've sat with them and they've played, it sounds remarkably like Black Sabbath".
Once again, can anyone say Soundwave 2013?
