Ben Folds Five to play Perth and Adelaide sideshows
Already announced to play Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane for Harvest, Ben Folds Five, in true gentlemanly style, are giving fans, from East Coast through to West, the opportunity to see the band go nuts live, on their first Australian tour in more than a decade. Ben Folds and friends will play their only Australian sideshows in Adelaide and Perth this November.
Ben Folds Five formed in Chapel Hill, NC in early 1994, and kicked the door open for many to follow becoming the mainstay measure of piano rock in the 90s. Led by namesake frontman, Ben Folds, and fueled by bassist Robert Sledge and drummer Darren Jessee, they quickly dispelled any misgivings about a band's ability to rock without guitars. Calling themselves "punk rock for sissies” and carrying Ben’s own baby grand piano from gig to gig, the trio blazed what would be a long-lasting legacy. 12 years since they split up at a peak in September 2000, the band return with the release of their brand new album The Sound of the Life of the Mind, their first studio album in 13 years, and shows across the globe taking in Australia in November.
