The Bear Hunt tour, new single, EP details
Brisbane sludge-pop group The Bear Hunt have released a new single Name and Shame from the upcoming EP Fallen On Deaf Ears out Friday 13th October. Heavily influenced by the sounds and emotions of the 90’s, The Bear Hunt draw musical inspiration from the likes of PJ Harvey, Soundgarden and Dinosaur JR.
After a very busy 2016, Linda, Bec, and Lloyd took a breather and recouped, before opening their doors to local Brisbane hero Murray Bowler of Go Go Fish (Brisbane) to bring a new and exciting element to The Bear Hunt's sound.
Of the new single, Name and Shame singer Bec Wilson says - “Lloyd and I wrote this song a while back when a bunch of grown adults we knew were carrying on like a group of school children, bitching about other people behind their backs. If you have a problem, find a way to deal with it. Don’t whinge and spread rumours. Front up and fight your own battles, don’t do it for your mate who is carrying on like a spoiled brat. We wanted to write a full blown punk song but still with essence of Bear Hunt.”
“We took The Drones fast pace angst that you hear on their first album “Here Comes the Lies”, this album was a huge influence in writing this song. We started with the heavy explosion ending and worked on the song backwards.”
Teaming up with legendary producer Bryce Moorhead (Violent Soho) at The Shed Studios, The Bear Hunt are excited to unleash their raw, energetic sound on the world once more. The lead single Who Made You God? showcased a more mature and developed sound, letting their new environment and influences take control, which saw a great response from peers, press, and fans, making the single hit #23 on 4ZZZ’s annual Hot 100.
The Bear Hunt will be touring off the back of their new EP Fallen on Deaf Ears delivering a diverse and ambitious live set, grabbing the punters’ attention by force. Check out all the dates below.
