Big Day Out back with a bang!
There’s been a lot of back luck for music festivals this last year or so. There was the last minute cancellation of Soundwave Revolution and numerous other festivals around the country called it quits. The Big Day Out also suffered, with the 20th anniversary edition of the festival reducing the scale of the Adelaide and Perth events, leaving many to wonder whether the festival would return.
Well, return it has! The Big Day Out 2013 will be celebrating its 21st birthday in style next year. There have been a lot of rumours of the last few months, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers being at the top of most lists. It can now be confirmed that the Chili Peppers are indeed headlining the festival next year.
Joining the Chili Peppers (who celebrate 30 years together in 2013) are the Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, The Bloody Beetroots (Live), Kaskade, Animal Collective, B.O.B, Sleigh Bells, Foals, Alabama Shakes, 360, Crystal Castles, Pretty Lights, Off!, Grinspoon, Against Me!, Gary Clark Jr, Nicky Romero, Morgan Page, Logo, Every Time I Die, Delta Spirit, Childish, Gambino, Me, Hunting Grounds, Jeff The Brotherhood, Death Grips, Adventure Club, Jagwar Ma, House Vs Hurricane, Avalanche City Toucan, Helena, Nina Las Vegas, Sampology (Av / Dj Show).
And in a return to form, Adelaide and Perth will once again see the full show, with the two main stages in full effect. Hallelujah!
