An Acoustic Evening with Ben Harper
Ben Harper makes his welcome return to Australia this coming November, performing his first-ever acoustic headline tour.
With a long and rich touring history and a great affinity with Australian audiences, this two-time Grammy award winning artist’s first time solo performance has been a long time coming.
Tickets for ‘An Evening With Ben Harper’ go on sale from 9am Wednesday July 11, with pre-sales commencing 1pm Friday July 6. Go to www.livenation.com.au for further details.
Ben Harper has been besieged by fan requests for this kind of intimate outing since his acclaimed acoustic performance at the inaugural Bonnaroo Music Festival in 2002.
A world renowned musician, songwriter, producer and activist, his unceasing commitment to International touring has helped him grow a fan base that now spans several continents. Whether it’s through the soul of southern Gospel, 70s funk, blues, reggae, or straightforward rock and roll, Harper and his trademark Weissenborn guitar continue to stun audiences with incendiary live performances and timeless songwriting.
A collaborator by nature, Harper has recorded and performed with a long list of artists including Ringo Starr, Pearl Jam, Jackson Browne, Tom Morello, Rickie Lee Jones, Taj Mahal, Jack Johnson and Vanessa Da Mata, including a career high industry accolade - his Grammy award winning partnership with the Blind Boys of Alabama.
And while past tours have given us a taste of just how special a solo performance might be - this is the first time Australian audiences will experience the two-hour plus, one-man acoustic Ben Harper journey.
With a back catalogue spanning ten studio albums and 18 years - and performing a selection of career highlights from his 1994 debut ‘Welcome to the Cruel World’, to his latest album, ‘Give Till It’s Gone’ - this promises to be a night of his finest moments that any true fan should not miss.
